I know.
It’s been a while. Like “forgot my password to send this email” kind of a while.
But they say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? And I come bearing fabulous bookish news.
1. HARDBACKS
It has been a long road to getting hardbacks done for my backlist, but I am about halfway through the process. A number of titles are already complete in hardback, and the rest should be finalized in the next two months (and I cannot tell you how it feels to see your book in hardback… it’s so much more awesome than Kindle or PB versions :)) Prepare yourself for sleek jackets, gorgeous spines, the whole need-me-I’m-fancy experience.
They’ll be going live in my store soon, so if you’ve been waiting to upgrade your shelf game (or just want a weaponized copy of your favorite MD book), you can keep an eye on the store (www.melissadelport.com) OR Amazon for international readers. (The Rachel Rhodes and Lissa Del titles are already up there!
2. AUDIO UPDATE
Big news: I’m officially on elevenREADER
As many of you know from my socials, I lost my ACX account (because I don’t live in the U.S. :( ) so I went from having 24 beautifully narrated audiobooks to having none. I needed a quick solution for my new listeners, and after filming an audiobook-specific podcast with the incredible Rachel Morgan or Pen & Prosper, I decided that until I can start new audio production with human voices (which is the benchmark, obviously), I am listing with elevenREADER.
If you haven’t heard of it yet, elevenREADER is like Netflix for books, or at least that’s how they market themselves. It works like a streaming service - which means:
First, you choose the book you want to read (I can highly recommend one of mine if you’re overwhelmed or at a loss). Then you select your preferred narrative voice, so you listen in a voice you enjoy. The app then reads the book to you, leaving your hands free for driving, shopping, or a spot of crochet!
The best part? IT’S FREE. I have no idea how they are getting that right, but you can listen to my books at no charge, and I still get paid. So you’re supporting me and your reading addiction. Say it with me: WIN|WIN.
If you prefer to support human voices (time and money aside, so would I!) I will be starting new audiobook recordings in 2026, and of course, I will let you know when they become available on all audiobook platforms. <3
If you’re already on elevenREADER, come find me. If you’re not and would like to try it out, here’s your official invitation to start with The Clock Keeper (though you can navigate from there to any of my other titles instead)
NB: I recommend the voice
labeled ‘Sarah’ - it just sounds like how I imagined Clarke would!
That’s all for now. I’ll be in your inbox again soon with a new release, but I can’t say for sure when ;) Until then, go read something fabulous.
Much love,
Melissa
