How is it already pumpkin season? I was making resolutions yesterday, I'm almost sure of it! 😳
If you've been wondering why I vanished off social media, Meta disabled all of my accounts (with no warning) and my appeal was never reviewed so there went ten years of hard work and ad spend.
I've heard it's a common problem right now, but there's no use shouting into the void, so I pulled up my big girl pants and moved on. I started a small instagram account, and made a few videos of how to protect your social media accounts You can find them here or read below for the highlights :)
Here are a few quick tips:
1. Don't link your Facebook and Instagram accounts. My Facebook was disabled and Meta automatically deleted my Instagram the same day.
2. Don't give IG or FB your phone number. Meta owns Whatsapp, so if you give them your number, your WA is at risk too.
3. Do not sign into anything with Facebook. I have paid apps I cannot access because I logged in with a FB account that no longer exists.
4. Melissa used FB as her backup photo album. Don't be like Melissa. Be smart and use OneDrive/GoogleDrive or the Cloud instead:) I lost 15 years worth of photos and memories in a single second.
5. Don't rely solely on social media for marketing. Find other ways to reach your audience, too. Exclusive Mailing Lists, for example ;)
